A heat transfer systems to access more cost effective heating and cooling Temperature extremes and high energy prices are causing economic and health risks in multiple countries including India. Many people either do not have access to air conditioning or they cannot afford the cost of electricity required. One potential […]

A good article by Kristina Sevastianova from our Stellae Energy Ltd. team about how CO2 can be utilised in addition to those volumes being sequestered. For collaboration or enquiries, contact us@stellaeenergy.com CO2 Utilisation Once I read on the coffee jar that “This coffee has been gently decaffeinated using CO2”. Good example of #circulareconomy and #wastemanagement. […]
A range of heat transfer systems to access heating and cooling With higher costs for energy required for heating or cooling, other options than the use of electricity or carbon based fuels are available. Shallow Geothermal Energy involves extracting heat or cooling from the relatively shallow subsurface using heat pumps. […]
For remote, power intensive Extractive or Hydrocarbon Processing Sites For remote, power intensive Extractive (Mining), Hydrocarbon Processing, or Industrial sites, sometimes there might be an opportunity to install large scale hybrid renewable energy solutions. Combining Solar PV, Wind, and perhaps Geothermal could offer a resilient energy mix, able to better […]
Geothermal Energy resources are found in tens of thousands of locations, however not all locations are conveniently located close to suitable electrical utility grids with good feed-in tariffs. One option is to use the electricity to produce some form of Green Hydrogen for road, rail, or pipeline export to market. […]
Off grid or Bad grid Standalone Power Systems (SPS) Off grid or bad grid Standalone Power Systems can utilise hybrid Solar PV and Hydrogen power solutions to provide economic, environmentally sustainable clean Renewable Energy systems. In some locations, the Solar PV can be supplemented by Wind Turbines. For locations with […]
An eye opening The Economist article perfectly matching our own research in current non ESG and high Polluting industries investment and debt raising patterns. Signficant non public investment will make matters worse for the #environment, #climatechange since no disclosure/reporting may lead to extraction of #hydrocarbons in ways which are more polluting. We very much agree with Larry […]
The next CCS example in SE Asia to be discussed is the BP Tangguh project in Indonesia. A giant depleted gas reservoir is planned for carbon sequestration along with Enhanced Gas Recovery (EGR). Significant CO2 emissions from the LNG facilities will be captured and injected into the nearby Vorwata reservoir.
Some very good projects are being developed in South East Asia involving high CO2 gas reservoirs and the use of Carbon Capture and Storage of these potential emissions in nearby depleted gas reservoirs. The first example is Repsol’s Sakakemang project in Sumatra Indonesia.
David Hartell MD & CEO Stellae Energy always been a voice of reason in the energy debate. Stellae Energy Ltd. supports Africa in its efforts to secure indigenous energy resources. Until Africa develops (and has the financial means to do so) #renewablesenergy resources such as #Geothermal, #biomass, #solarpower and #windenergy […]
In the right circumstances, CCS and EOR can be linked to sequester significant amounts of CO2 (up to ~100mmscfd / 2 MTA) and extract additional amounts of residual oil (up to ~50mmbo in some places). Finding the right large low BTU reservoir and then locating a large residual oil reservoir […]
Another example of where experience with utilising CO2 injection to facilitate Enhanced Oil Recovery has also helped advance confidence in carbon sequestration technologies and storage integrity monitoring. These combined CCS and EOR solutions continue to scale up with very significant similar but much larger projects being investigated internationally.
