Support for Distributed Energy Solutions (DES)

Decarbonisation needs increased Electrification, but many hundreds of billions of dollars of international grid investment is needed (and years of permitting, sometimes unsuccessful) and many developing nations may not even have suitable national grids. In order to help meet climate goals, a potential more timely and economic solution is the use of Distributed Energy Systems (DES).

DES are well suited for Residential, Agricultural, Schools, Medical, Commercial, and Industrial energy users. DES can include Solar PV, Wind Turbines, Shallow Geothermal (heating and cooling), and/or Deep Geothermal (electricity) with Energy Storage Systems provided by batteries, Hydrogen/Ammonia, CAES, or LAES. A natural complement to DES is modular water and waste treatment systems linked in hybrid systems to optimise energy use.
