Intermittent Renewables with curtailment issues due to Electrical Utility grid constraints can still provide value if the electricity is utilised other than by export to the grid. Green Energy Modules to produce Hydrogen or Ammonia that is able to be transported to other locations for use in local distributed energy systems is one way to capture this value. Hydrogen and Ammonia are energy carriers that are good for high capacity, long duration Energy Storage and then can be used to produce electricity with fuel cells, engines, or turbine power generators.
Evaluating the end to end economic value (with zero marginal electrical cost at source) is the correct way to evaluate these opportunities.
