CO2 Utilisation
Once I read on the coffee jar that “This coffee has been gently decaffeinated using CO2”. Good example of #circulareconomy and #wastemanagement.
But can #CCU be an alternative for #CCS? I believe both complement each other.
CCS has a larger CO2 mitigation potential. However, the additional opportunities offered by CCU are worth studying and exploiting, especially if you are already planning/doing CCS projects you can get some commercial benefits from CCU.
Also, hybrid systems with #renewableenergy sources should be used to overcome energy barrier issues, as #carboncapture and transportation are energy intensive processes.
