- Hydrothermal fluids produced from these wells would flow through surface completions consisting of wellheads, trees, and discharge test equipment.
- Well production tests would measure composition, flow rates, pressures, temperatures in the wells and at the surface. Periodic discharge testing helps measure mass flow rate and flowing enthalpy. Discharges can also be used during well start-up. Due to fluid velocities during discharge, the design of these silencers requires detailed noise reduction mitigation features during testing.
- Longer duration flow tests of production and injection wells are used to establish reservoir data useful in dynamic model simulations and to confirm effective permeability in the reservoir.
