This series of posts is about the importance and opportunities associated with the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia and the resultant production of Green Nitrogen-based Fertilisers.
Over half the global population’s food is supported by Fertilisers and the current means of production relies on Natural Gas and Coal in the Global North. The Global South is significantly underrepresented in fertiliser production and, with the availability of renewable energies, economic production processes can be low emission using Solar PV, Wind, and Geothermal energies. This is an important food security, social, political, and commercial opportunity with well proven technologies.
