Hydrothermal Volcanic Geothermal Energy (6/12)

  • Binary ORC equipment systems can come in different configurations and this is a second configuration.
  • This sketch shows a hybrid ORC, two phase (single flash separation with one turbine system utilising primarily vapour phase and the other turbine system utilising primarily liquid phase).
  • Both turbine systems would be connected to generators.
  • Cooling systems would be required for both condensers.
  • These systems could be used with multiple wells in higher enthalpy reservoirs, producing electricity up to tens of MW.
  • The general principals remain the same with cooled well fluids reinjected and no gas emissions or effluent discharges.
