The East African Rift System is a well known source of Geothermal Energy in Africa, but there is potential for low to medium enthalpy heat resources in more than 25# African countries associated with intrusive plutonic rock formations. Often these locations have been the site of shallow mineral exploration and development of hydrothermal deposited mineral ores. These heat resources could help address the challenges of Energy Poverty with persistent, environmentally sustainable Geothermal electricity.
