Carbon Dioxide Storage

There is extensive industry experience on potential geological storage options for CO2.

Some conventional, pressure depleted oil or gas reservoirs could have good porosity and permeability for optimal injectivity. Being able to repurpose end of life oil & gas wells and reservoirs could add significant economic benefits as long as any potential well modifications were properly evaluated.

Other locations like sedimentary rock formation saline aquifers may require hydraulic fracturing and/or horizontal injection wells to get the necessary injectivity.  These types of aquifers are widespread and unless hydrothermal, they have limited alternate uses, so it is important to consider them and identify any work needed to improve injectivity.
